Salinas, is an Ecuadorian city; cantonal head of the Salinas Canton, as well as the largest and least populated city in the Province of Santa Elena. It is located in the center-south of the coastal region of Ecuador, on the tip of Santa Elena, which is the western end of continental Ecuador, at an altitude of 8 meters above sea level (meters above sea level)

and with a tropical dry climate of 25 ° C on average.

 

It is called the "Blue Paradise of the South Pacific" for its privileged geographical location, for which, the city is considered the most important resort in the country. The city is one of the nuclei of the metropolitan area of ​​La Puntilla, which is also constituted by cities and nearby rural parishes, among which La Libertad and Santa Elena stand out. The conglomerate houses 170,342 inhabitants.

 

Salinas, is one of the most important economic, financial and commercial centers of the province. The main activities of the city are tourism, fishing, construction and salt production.
